Four worms, one tablet, dosed by weight.
Triworm-D is a broad-spectrum worm remedy for dogs, registered against ascarids (roundworms), hookworms, whipworms and tapeworms. Each tablet contains praziquantel 50 mg, pyrantel pamoate 144 mg and febantel 150 mg.
The dose is one tablet per 10 kg of body mass. Weigh your dog, or ask us to — a dose worked out by eye is the commonest reason a deworming doesn't take, and there is no visible sign when it hasn't. The full table is below, including quarter and half tablets for dogs under 5 kg.
It can be given directly, hidden in a small amount of food, or crushed into a meal. There is no need to fast the dog beforehand or afterwards.
Puppies should be dewormed from two weeks of age at two-week intervals until twelve weeks, then every three to six months for life. Triworm-D can be given to young puppies, old dogs, working dogs and to pregnant bitches up to ten days before whelping.
Registered under Act 36 of 1947, Reg. No. G3645. For animal use only.
Each tablet contains: Praziquantel: 50 mg Pyrantel pamoate: 144 mg Febantel: 150 mg Transcribed verbatim from the Triworm-D pack insert. Registration: Reg. No. G3645 Act 36/1947. Namibia: NS0 Reg. No. V06/18.1.8/609 Act 13/2003.
Store below 25 °C, out of reach of children and animals. Keep the pack insert — the dose table is on it, and you'll want it in six months. Deworming works best as a routine rather than a reaction. Diarise it: puppies every two weeks from two to twelve weeks, then every three to six months for life. Dogs that scavenge, hunt, eat raw food or share a garden with several others sit at the shorter end of that range. Tapeworm is carried by fleas, so a dog with fleas will keep re-infecting herself no matter how often you deworm — treat both together or you're doing half a job. Worms are frequently invisible. Most infected dogs look well, and seeing nothing in the stool afterwards does not mean there was nothing there. Weight loss, a pot belly in a puppy, scooting, or rice-like segments around the tail are worth a vet visit rather than another tablet.
