Skip the spot-on faff — one tablet, 12 weeks of flea, tick and mite cover.
A chewable tablet built around a single active, fluralaner, given orally rather than applied to the skin — useful for dogs that get bathed or swim often, since nothing sits on the coat to be washed off. One tablet, once every 12 weeks, treats and prevents fleas, ticks and several mite species in a single dose.
Sold as five tablet strengths, one per weight band from 112.5mg to 1400mg, so the dose scales with the dog rather than asking an owner to split or estimate a tablet.
Active ingredient (fluralaner, dose scales with tablet strength/weight band): 112.5mg (2-4.5kg), 250mg (4.5-10kg), 500mg (10-20kg), 1000mg (20-40kg), 1400mg (40-56kg) — works out to roughly 25-56mg/kg within each band.
Twelve weeks is a real deadline rather than a loose guideline — reset the reminder on the day the tablet is actually given, rather than "around three months," since small drift adds up across a year of dosing. Giving it with or right after a meal is the easiest way to make sure it's swallowed rather than spat out; for a dog that reliably avoids tablets, that's a genuine advantage over a spot-on, which also has to be kept off other pets and away from bathing for a few days afterwards. Nothing about bathing, swimming or rain changes how well this one works, since it acts through the bloodstream rather than sitting on top of the coat. Double-check the tablet strength against the dog's current weight at every repurchase, the same as any weight-banded product — a dog that's grown into the next band needs to move up rather than finish out the old pack.
