One bag from mating to weaning, for her and for them.
A medium-breed bitch in the last three weeks of pregnancy has a litter pressing on her stomach and an energy requirement climbing towards double her normal. She physically cannot eat enough of an ordinary food to keep up, which is why she loses condition through nursing on one.
Fat at 22% and protein at 30% make this concentrated enough that she can. The same bag then does the puppies: the kibble rehydrates to a porridge, so weaning happens on one product rather than three, and betaglucans with prebiotics support digestive systems meeting solid food for the first time. Feed it from mating through to the puppies going home at eight weeks.
Dehydrated poultry protein, rice, animal fats, vegetable protein isolate (L.I.P. — protein selected for its very high digestibility), maize, beet pulp, hydrolysed animal proteins, minerals, fish oil, soya oil, fructo-oligo-saccharides, hydrolysed yeast (source of manno-oligo-saccharides), fatty acid salt, yeast extracts (source of betaglucans), marigold extract (source of lutein). Additives (per kg) — Nutritional additives: Vitamin A 19,000 IU · Vitamin D3 1,200 IU · E1 (Iron) 40 mg · E2 (Iodine) 4 mg · E4 (Copper) 12 mg · E5 (Manganese) 52 mg · E6 (Zinc) 133 mg · E8 (Selenium) 0.07 mg. Technological additives: Clinoptilolite of sedimentary origin 10 g. Preservatives. Antioxidants.
Store in a cool, dry place, sealed. Use within six weeks of opening. Start the puppies on kibble soaked to a porridge at around three weeks and reduce the water over a fortnight. Use a wide shallow tray they can all reach at once, and watch the smallest — littermates will crowd her out. Weigh each puppy daily for the first two weeks; one that isn't gaining needs a vet.
