That coat starts as fluff and takes two years to arrive.
Golden Retrievers have sensitive skin — the breed is over-represented for atopic dermatitis and hot spots, and a Cape summer with a thick double coat is exactly the wrong combination. It shows up young.
EPA and DHA at 0.4% with borage oil support the skin barrier from eight weeks, and vitamin E runs at 780 mg/kg, the highest in the breed range. Fat is held to 16% for controlled growth over joints that are dysplasia-prone, with glucosamine and chondroitin supporting cartilage while it forms. Betaglucans and prebiotics cover immunity and digestion. She moves onto Golden Retriever Adult at sixteen months.

Store in a cool, dry place, sealed. Use within six weeks. Dry her thoroughly after swimming or a bath — a damp undercoat is how hot spots start, and Goldens swim in anything. Keep her lean while she's growing and limit stairs and long runs until a year. Brush twice a week; the coat comes in properly from around eight months.
