An adult Shepherd's digestion doesn't reliably settle down with age. Fibre at 4% is the highest in the breed range and that's deliberate — the whole formulation is built around getting more of the food absorbed and less of it arriving at the far end in poor condition.

Highly digestible L.I.P. proteins, manno-oligo-saccharides and a measured fibre balance do that work. EPA and DHA at 4 g/kg support both the joints — hips and elbows are the breed's lifelong weakness — and a double coat that sheds relentlessly, with glucosamine and chondroitin alongside. Looking after it

Store in a cool, dry place, sealed. Use within six weeks. Change her food slowly and don't chop and change; a Shepherd's gut punishes variety. Brush her twice a week and daily when the coat blows. Keep her lean — hip dysplasia is managed largely through weight and muscle. She's deep-chested, so learn the signs of bloat and don't feed her around exercise.
