14% fat — Cockers put on weight looking at a biscuit.
Cockers gain weight easily and hide it well under all that coat, and an overweight Cocker is a Cocker with worse ears, worse joints and less inclination to do the walking that would help. Fat is held to 14% for exactly that reason.
Protein at 25% holds condition, EPA and DHA at 4 g/kg with borage oil support skin prone to seborrhoea and the long silky feathering it produces, and pentasodium triphosphate at 3.5 g/kg works against tartar. Glucosamine and chondroitin support the joints, and the kibble is shaped so she can pick it up without dragging her ears through the bowl. For dogs from twelve months.
Rice, maize, dehydrated poultry protein, maize gluten, animal fats, hydrolysed animal proteins, beet pulp, vegetable protein isolate (L.I.P. — protein selected for its very high digestibility), fish oil, minerals, psyllium husks and seeds, soya oil, fructo-oligo-saccharides, hydrolysed yeast (source of manno-oligo-saccharides), borage oil (0.1%), hydrolysed crustaceans (source of glucosamine), marigold extract (source of lutein), hydrolysed cartilage (source of chondroitin). Additives (per kg) — Nutritional additives: Vitamin A 30,500 IU · Vitamin D3 800 IU · E1 (Iron) 42 mg · E2 (Iodine) 4.2 mg · E4 (Copper) 13 mg · E5 (Manganese) 54 mg · E6 (Zinc) 142 mg · E8 (Selenium) 0.09 mg. Sensory additives: tea extract (source of polyphenols) 150 mg. Preservatives. Antioxidants.
Store in a cool, dry place, sealed. Use within six weeks; decant the 12 kg. Check her ears weekly — head shaking, a smell, or scratching at one ear means a vet, and left alone it becomes a surgical problem. Dry the ears after swimming. Feel for her ribs monthly rather than judging by eye; the coat hides a great deal. Brush the feathering two or three times a week.
