The smallest dog in the world, on the shortest growth schedule.
A Chihuahua puppy weighs about 100 grams at birth and is essentially finished at eight months. She is the smallest dog in the world doing the most compressed version of growing up, and she does it on a stomach the size of a walnut.
The kibble is the smallest in the range — she has to be able to pick it up on the first try, or she gives up and you spend the evening worrying. Protein at 30% and fat at 20% make every one of those tiny mouthfuls count, with betaglucans and an antioxidant complex supporting an immune system that's taking over from her mother's. Prebiotics keep a very small gut settled, and yucca extract cuts stool odour. She moves onto Chihuahua Adult at nine months.
Dehydrated poultry protein, rice, animal fats, maize, vegetable protein isolate (L.I.P. — protein selected for its very high digestibility), beet pulp, hydrolysed animal proteins, soya oil, fish oil, vegetable fibres, minerals, fructo-oligo-saccharides, hydrolysed yeast (source of manno-oligo-saccharides), yeast extracts (source of betaglucans), marigold extract (source of lutein). Additives (per kg) — Nutritional additives: Vitamin A 28,000 IU · Vitamin D3 800 IU · Vitamin E 570 mg · E1 (Iron) 39 mg · E2 (Iodine) 3.9 mg · E4 (Copper) 12 mg · E5 (Manganese) 51 mg · E6 (Zinc) 107 mg · E8 (Selenium) 0.08 mg. Store in a cool, dry place, sealed. Use within six weeks of opening. Toy puppies can drop their blood sugar dangerously low if they go too long without food — feed little and often, and if she ever goes wobbly or unresponsive, rub honey on her gums and get her to a vet. Don't let her jump off furniture; the joints aren't set. Handle her mouth daily now so cleaning her teeth later is possible.
