Geometric holes to push food into. Turns dinner into twenty minutes of work.
Not a snuffle mat and not a ball she can chew apart — a rigid TPR-and-foam shape with geometric openings you push food into. Kibble, treats, a spread; anything she has to work at.
The point is foraging. A dog who has to nose, tip and dig for her food is using the part of her brain that a bowl never touches, and it's the single easiest fix for a dog who's bored rather than under-exercised.
Squeaker inside, and two different textures on the surface for interest. It floats.
Materials: TPR and foam.
PetLove's published warning, verbatim: "if you have a 'cheeky chewer' we recommend supervising your dog's playtime — examine toys regularly for wear and replace if any part of the toy becomes loose or damaged." That's softer than most makers' wording, so we'll add ours: supervise a new toy the first few times regardless of how gentle she usually is, because you don't know what she'll do with it until she's done it. To clean: warm water and washing-up liquid with a bottle brush to get into the recesses, rinse, then let it dry naturally. Whatever goes in the ball comes out of her daily food allowance, not on top of it. It's very easy to add a hundred calories a day this way without noticing.
