Larger dogs with sensitive systems are the ones owners notice most, simply because of the scale of the evidence. The underlying problem is the same as in a small dog: food that isn't being absorbed properly, showing up at both ends of the animal.

This recipe is noticeably different from the small-breed version — chicken meal leads rather than a poultry blend, brown rice, barley and oats carry the carbohydrate, and there's added taurine and L-carnitine for heart function and fat metabolism. Prebiotic fibres feed the gut bacteria, improving absorption, and omega-6 with vitamin E rebuilds skin condition from the inside. For medium and large breeds with delicate digestion or reactive skin.

Chicken meal, brown rice, barley, maize, oats, maize gluten meal, dried beet pulp, chicken fat, chicken digest, flaxseed, vegetable oil, minerals, vitamins, DL-methionine, taurine, and L-carnitine.

Looking after it

Store in a cool, dry place, sealed. Use within six weeks. Split across two meals — deep-chested breeds are at bloat risk from single large meals, and that matters more when digestion is already the problem. Take ten days over the change, then give it six to eight weeks before judging: the stomach settles first, the coat follows. Fresh water, always.
