Six is genuinely old for a large breed. The stairs go first, then the car boot, and by the time an owner mentions it the joints have usually been working hard for a couple of years already.
Glucosamine and chondroitin come from real sources here — crustacean shell hydrolysate and pork cartilage, not a synthetic dusting — and they're the building blocks cartilage is actually made from. Protein is held at a moderate 17.9% and fat at 13.2%, which is right for a big dog moving less than he was, with added L-carnitine to help him use fat for energy rather than store it. Clinically proven antioxidants support ageing immunity, and pea bran meal and flaxseed keep digestion steady. For large breeds aged six and over.

Looking after it
Store in a cool, dry place, sealed. An 18 kg bag is a lot of food — decant a week at a time and keep the rest sealed and cool. Split the daily amount across two meals; deep-chested breeds shouldn't eat once a day because of bloat risk. Joint benefits build over six to eight weeks. Stiffness that doesn't ease after a few minutes of movement is worth a vet visit as well as a food change. Fresh water, always.
