About the size of a baseball, with a moulded-in squeaker that survives being caught.
The classic Ultra Ball with a squeaker built into it — and moulded in rather than dropped in, which is what stops it becoming a loose part the moment a determined dog gets through the shell.
Thick rubber core, textured surface, high bounce, and it floats. Chuckit! put it at about 3 inches — the size of a baseball.
Materials: rubber. This is the one Chuckit! describe as gentle on teeth and gums.
Launcher fit: Large needs an L-size launcher. It will not fit the Classic 26M.
Chuckit! ask you to supervise play until you're sure your dog won't destroy the toy, and to replace any ball that develops rips, tears or cuts. Size matters more than anything else here: the ball should not fit completely inside her mouth. If it does, size up. These are fetch toys, not chew toys — Chuckit! publish no chew-strength rating for any of them. A dog who settles down to gnaw a ball rather than chase it should have a proper chew instead. To clean, hand wash in warm water with a soft brush and mild dish soap, then air dry fully. Petmate's own guidance is to avoid long soaks — they degrade rubber. Once the squeaker stops squeaking, the shell has usually been breached somewhere. That's the point to retire it, not the point to let her keep working at it.
