The straightforward kitten food. Most kittens need nothing cleverer.
The second growth stage — roughly four months to a year — is when a kitten stops being a small round thing and starts turning into a cat. Bone lengthens, muscle fills in, and the immune system she borrowed from her mother is replaced by her own. It's a demanding stretch and it's short.
Protein at 34% and fat at 16% cover the building work, with calcium at 1.2% and phosphorus at 1% in the ratio the skeleton needs. An antioxidant complex supports the immune system through the handover period, when kittens are most vulnerable. Highly digestible L.I.P. proteins and prebiotics keep a young digestive tract settled — a kitten's gut is less forgiving than an adult's and a rich food she can't absorb properly just produces mess. For kittens up to twelve months.
Dehydrated poultry protein, maize, rice, vegetable protein isolate (L.I.P. — protein selected for its very high digestibility), maize gluten, animal fats, hydrolysed animal proteins, vegetable fibres, beet pulp, soya oil, fish oil, yeasts, minerals, fructo-oligosaccharides, hydrolysed yeast (source of mannan-oligosaccharides), marigold extract (source of lutein).
Store in a cool, dry place, sealed. Use within six weeks of opening. Free-feed a young kitten if you like — under six months they self-regulate well and grow fast — then move to measured meals from about six months. Buy a bag size you'll finish in six weeks; the 10 kg makes sense for a litter, not for one kitten. Keep her on this until twelve months even when she looks grown at eight. Fresh water, always.
