This is the hypoallergenic half of the Karoo adult cat range, and it exists for a specific customer: the cat who itches, or who has loose stools on everything, where chicken is the usual suspect.

Trout and lamb replace poultry entirely — rice is still the single grain, and the ingredient list stays short so there's less to react to. Omega-3 runs at 1.5% with EPA and DHA at 1%, notably higher than the chicken recipe, which is what you want for a cat whose skin is already irritated. Fibre is 5% with citrus fibre and cellulose for hairballs and gut transit, and magnesium is held to 0.09% for urinary pH.

Looking after it

Store in a cool, dry place, sealed. Use within six weeks of opening. If you're switching because of itching or upset, change her over across a full week and then give it six to eight weeks before judging — skin works on its own timetable. Don't give her anything else during that window, or you won't know what worked. A cat still scratching after two months needs a vet rather than another food.
