Cat's Best Original is made from active wood fibres — a by-product of the timber industry, not mined clay — using JRS's own fibre technology. The fibres absorb liquid and odour into themselves and encapsulate it, clumping into a solid lump rather than a slurry, so it scoops clean rather than smearing.
No added fragrance, which matters if your cat is one of the many who'll avoid a heavily perfumed tray. It's biodegradable, low-dust, and light enough that a full bag doesn't feel like carrying gravel.
Technologically refined active wood fibres, using JRS's proprietary ICS (Intelligent Capillary System) wood fibre technology, sourced from PEFC-certified secondary wood raw materials (timber industry by-products, not wood felled specifically for litter). Absorbs and encapsulates liquid and odour up to roughly 7× its own weight. Biodegradable (brand-confirmed). Scoop clumps daily; a full change is generally needed less often than with clay litter, since the fibres keep working rather than saturating — many owners get several weeks from a tray with daily scooping.
