The standard groom, sized for the big dogs. We brush the coat out, bathe and blow dry properly, clean the ears and teeth, and take the nails back to a comfortable length.

That last one matters more than it sounds. Nails left too long change how a dog stands and puts weight through the joints — and on a big dog, carrying that much more weight, it adds up faster.

Bathing a large dog at home is its own event: the wet dog, the wet bathroom, the shake at exactly the wrong moment. Doing it in the van means none of that happens in your house, and a big coat actually gets dried properly rather than left damp to the skin.

There's no clipping or de-shedding in this tier. If your dog needs the coat taken down, or is dropping hair through the house, the Royal Treatment adds a de-shed, a trim or shave and anal glands for R50 more.

Before we come

This tier is for dogs over 30kg. Under that, book the Midi (15–30kg) or the Mini (under 15kg) — we'd rather you booked the right one than had us arrive with the wrong slot held. Give us somewhere to park close to the house and access to a plug point if you have one nearby. Take your dog out for a wee before we arrive; it makes the first ten minutes much easier for everyone. Tell us in advance about anything we should know — a sore hip, a spot he doesn't like handled, past trouble at a groomer, or anything your vet has flagged. It matters more with a big dog, both for his comfort and for ours, and we would much rather hear it beforehand. If the coat is badly matted, say so when you book. Mats can't safely be brushed out past a certain point and may need clipping, which is the Royal Treatment rather than this one.
